Planning / Scheduling Engineer
Iridian Spectral Technologies is looking for a full time Production Planner to work in the Planning Department of the Optical Filter Division. This position reports to the Director of Planning and interacts closely with all other departments within the division.
Key responsibilities:
· Optimizing scheduling of vacuum coating runs on multiple types of coaters
· Forecasting end-to-end filter production schedules for each work order
· Providing the Sales department with timely and realistic shipment commit dates
· Actively assist with documentation and continuous improvement of the planning process
Required skills and qualifications:
· Bachelors degree in physics or engineering
· At least five years experience in a manufacturing environment
· Experience in planning &scheduling complex operations on a daily basis
· Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems and make decisions with sound judgment
· Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
· Previous experience with optical filters and/or vacuum deposition would be a definite asset
· Experience with a scheduling tool such as Preactor would be an advantage
