The Management Team
The core of the management team has been together for many years and has managed the transition of the company from start-up to a significant manufacturing organization with an excellent record of profitability and great prospects for the future.
Peter H. Dawson Ph.D.: Chairman
Peter Dawson was a co-founder of Iridian Spec tral Technologies in 1998 and its first President. He has many years of experience on the boards of high-tech companies and Canadian research organizations. Peter was formerly the Director-General of the Institute for Microstructural Sciences of the National Research Council of Canada. He plays active role in Iridian particularly at the strategic level.
George Laframboise: President
George Laframboise joined Iridian soon after its foundation bringing many years of thin film manufacturing expertise to the company. He became President in 2002 and he has been responsible for guiding the outstanding growth of the company in the last five years.
Brian Sullivan Ph.D: Vice-President and Chief Technical Officer
Brian Sullivan was the founder of Iridian. Brian’s expertise in optical thin films and his contributions to advancing the state-of-the-art are well recognized by his international peers. He remains the driving force behind process improvement and new product development at Iridian..
Robert Bruce: Vice-President and General Manager of the Lens Division
Robert Bruce was appointed Vice-President of Iridian in 2004 after management experience in JDS Uniphase relating to the development and manufacture of thin film optical filters. He has served a number of roles in Iridian including the development of customer relationships. Currently, he directs the Lens Division which focuses on high volume production operations.
Douglas Burbidge: General Manager of the Filter Division
Douglas Burbidge joined Iridian in 2009 as General Manager of the Filter Division which manufactures both telecommunications and spectroscopic products. Prior to joining Iridian, Doug had extensive experience with the development and manufacture of optical products with Newport Instruments, Picarro and JDS Uniphase.
The Sales & Marketing Team:
The team’s responsibilities are not only for sales and customer relations with respect to existing products but also for prospecting and pursuit of new market opportunities. They have engineering backgrounds and a deep interest in the technologies and customer needs. The team covers all geographical areas with the help of distributors in a few specific areas (see contact page for details).
Nikki Bulgarea:
Nikki has been the Manager of Sales and Marketing since 2002.She is responsible not only for sales but also business development in all geographical areas. She takes a particular responsibility for the European markets and is involved with both spectroscopic and telecommunications products. She speaks German, French, Romanian and Hungarian.
Xiaolun Zeng:
Xiaolun joined the team in 2005 after many years of experience in the optical communications industry. He has lead responsibility for sales and developing markets in the Asian region and a strong interest in telecommunications products. Xiaolun speaks Both Mandarin and Cantonese.
Jason Palidwar:
Jason joined the team in 2006 with a broad industrial background as a product manager in JDS Uniphase related to telecommunications filters, but he has since taken a special interest in products for spectroscopic applications and also in the development of sales in the entertainment sector (3D glasses and filter wheels).
