Peter Dawson,
Chairman
Peter Dawson was the first President and CEO of Iridian Spectral Technologies in 1998 and he became Chairman of the company in April 2002. From 1990-1998, he was the founding Director-General of the Institute for Microstructural Sciences of the National Research Council of Canada (NRC). There, he was responsible for both strategic planning and operations of the Institute, which had a staff of about 125 people.
Peter has experience in government, academia and industry. He has chaired a number of expert committees for government agencies and served on the Boards of Directors of both industrial and research organizations. He is author of more than 100 technical publications in surface physics, mass spectrometry and vacuum technology. Peter is best known technically as editor and principal author of the classic book: "Quadrupole Mass Spectrometry and its Applications."
