Substrate Preparation

When a deposition system becomes available for manufacturing a filter, the appropriate type of substrate is selected and undergoes rigorous cleaning to ensure there is excellent adhesion between the multilayer coating and the substrate and to minimize any cosmetic markings after the coating process is completed. After the substrate preparation is completed, the substrate (also sometimes known as a wafer) is mounted onto a special holder and it is then ready for loading into one of Iridian's deposition systems.
