“More Signal, Less Background”: Iridian’s new filters for Flow Cytometry
Iridian Spectral Technologies has expanded its bio-analytical filter capabilities to address the increasing demands for flow cytometry filters. Advances in numbers of lasers, detectors, and available fluorophores have enabled new flow cytometers to offer a greater number of detection channels to their users. This has increased the burden on both the performance and price of notch, dichroic, and emission filters to maximize discrimination of multiple dyes.

John Hopkins University uses Iridian filters in novel approach for supernovae observation
Researchers at Johns Hopkins University, in conjunction with the Harvard Center for Astrophysics and the University of Hawaii, have successfully identified and classified three new supernovae candidates using an optical filter designed and manufactured by Iridian Spectral Technologies, Ltd.. These results have been published in The Astrophysical Journal, Volume 706, Number 1, Oct.1, 2009 (“Cross correlation filters: An Economical approach for identifying SNE IA and estimating their red shift”)
”We have developed an economical approach to identifying SNe Ia and their redshifts using an uncommon type of optical filter which has multiple, discontinuous passbands on a single substrate.”..”….Prototype filters were built and successfully used on Magellan with LDSS-3 to characterize three SNLS candidates.”
