Free-Space

Iridian offers both standard and custom optical filter solutions to facilitate optical communications in “non-fiber optic” environments. Unlike typical telecom filters these free-space filters have larger dimensions to make it for easier coupling of the incident light to the filter but otherwise offer similar wavelength discrimination functionality as their fiber-optic filter cousins.

Applications addressed by these filters can include bench-top or module level free-space optic communications systems and long distance, laser based free-space communication systems (from building-to-building telecom networks or earth-to-orbit satellite communication systems).
